The NASCAR "Lucky Dog" Rule Explained

In NASCAR, the "lucky dog" rule says that when a caution comes out, the first car 1 lap behind the leader gets to move back onto the lead lap. It may sound simple, but here are some parts of the rule that make it very confusing. If the car that would have gotten the lucky dog was involved in the caution, nobody gets the lucky dog. If the caution comes out with 10 or less laps to go, there are no lucky dogs. There are 12 points on the racetrack where the position of each car is measured when a caution comes out, so the first car a lap down when the caution comes out is not always the person who gets the lucky dog. Confusing? I think so.

So, what is the reason for this complicated rule? In NASCAR, when a caution would come out, cars could race back to the start/finish line. NASCAR decided that this was not safe because safety workers needed to get to cars immediately and sometimes crashed cars would be in the track. When cars were aloud to race back to the line, leaders of the race would sometimes slow down and let lapped cars that were close pass. When NASCAR changed the rules, they decided that cars should still have a chance to get back on the lead lap when the caution came out. This rule also gives the fans another race within the race to watch. This rule has had some controversy though; many people argue that it is giving a driver who was not good enough to race on the lead lap a chance to compete for the win. Some drivers will sometimes use this rule to there advantage by using strategies that will put them a lap down, then when the caution comes out, they will get back on the lead lap and have a chance to win. Still, the lucky dog rule is a big part of every race, whenever the caution comes out everybody is anxious to hear who the lucky dog is.

Buying Action Figures

If you have a collection of something, you want to make your collection grow and collecting action figures is no different. You can, of course, look in your local store for action figures but sometimes you can't find that certain action figure that you are looking for. When this happens to me, I like to look on eBay.

EBay is also good because sometime you can get a very good deal. Without using the internet, you can spend years looking for that one certain action figure that you want and then when you finally are able to find it; it is way out of your price range. On eBay, you can find what you are looking for very easily and, if the auction falls in your favor, you can get what you are bidding on for a lot cheaper than it would be at your local store. Even when it is not a rare action figure that you are looking for, it is still a good idea to check eBay because of these great deals. Just to add to all of this, you don't even have to leave your house, this make buying your favorite action figures very easy.

How To Annoy A Football Fan

I can't decide whether I am happier when my team wins or when my friend's team loses, just so I can rub it in his face. Now, of course, there are many ways I do this. To me, annoying somebody is an art where anybody can be an artist, or maybe it's just how I get my kicks.

To start, there are the normal tricks, cheer as loudly as possible whenever something happens that is not in the "rival" teams favor and boo whenever something is in their favor. But everybody does this, so we need something that will really get under our rival fans skin. Next time your friend goes to a home game of his favorite team, you need to go too, supporting the other team. You need to go all the way, jersey, face paint, foam finger, everything, and whenever everybody is booing, you need to cheer, and when everybody is cheering, boo. If you do this, you will not only be annoying your friend, but also all of the other fans sitting near you. Whenever I watch the game on TV, I always see somebody doing this, and I solute them. Anybody who will put themselves into this unfamiliar ground just to annoy their rival fans is a true fan of football because a true fan will do whatever it takes to show that their team is the best, even when that team is 2-14.
